IGNORED PLAYAZ: GIRL UNIT x ACTRESS
It’s that time again when Ignored Playaz rolls out his monthly night in Dublin which saw many heavy hitters come to Dublin in the past including Ben UFO, Untold, Deadboy, Bok Bok, DJ Oneman, Roska & L-VIS 1990.
This Saturday (9th October 2010) Girl Unit and Actress make their Dublin debut in Kennedy’s Underground (Westland Row). Both artists have made their mark this year with releases which attracted praise from everyone who listened to them.
Actress released one of the seminal albums of this year in form of Splazsh, 15 track monster follow up to Hazyville (2008) in which you can just get lost in. I cannot recommend this album highly enough. Machine sounds of an unknown sci-fi utopia intermixed with the today’s techno, garage, house and electronic vibes.

Just back from his US tour, Girl Unit on the other side has been a long time conspirator of the Night Slugs crew who explores his own unique styles of bridging inner London-centric house with Detroit techno, Chicago juke and all other music types to the outer space.
Having released his first EP this year I.R.L. his remixes and tracks have been a mainstay for DJs everywhere, and highly sought Wut EP (forthcoming) will cement that notion.
His last mix for XLR8R is pretty much on repeat for me and I’m looking forward to seeing him DJ this Saturday.
